Sheep in a Vermont Field

Sheep in a Vermont Field is an oil painting on a 5” x 7” gesso board panel and is framed with a Shaker style black frame. It was the end of the summer and certain trees were starting to show color – summer is short in Vermont. I saw these sheep grazing and decided to make some sketches and I just discovered them. I wanted to show the peacefulness I felt as the sheep wondered around in front of me so I chose to paint more with shapes and color instead of fine detailing.
